BEIJING, June 27, 2026 (TON): A pilot was killed and 13 people on the ground were injured after a light aircraft crashed into the CITIC Tower in Beijing on Friday, authorities said.
The aircraft struck the upper section of the skyscraper before falling to the ground, causing damage to part of the building's exterior. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
