BEIJING, 10 July, 2026 (TON): At least 28 people were killed after a major fire swept through a shoe manufacturing factory in Jinjiang, Fujian Province, according to local authorities.
Emergency crews worked for several hours to rescue trapped workers as flames spread rapidly through the building. Officials said highly combustible foot wear materials and industrial adhesives accelerated the blaze.
Preliminary investigations indicate the fire originated on the ground floor of the factory. Authorities have launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause while recovery operations continue.
