SWAT, 5 August 2026 (TON): At least 13 people, including three women and three children, have died during heavy rain and floods incidents in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province since early this month.
The affected districts include Swat, Buner, Abbottabad, Chitral, Dir, Mansehra, Shangla, Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar and Kohistan.
Torrential rain and flash floods have caused widespread damage across several districts, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) confirmed.
The PDMA said 65 houses were damaged, including 24 that were completely destroyed and 41 that suffered partial damage.
The PDMA also advisory to the residents to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from vulnerable and tourist areas during adverse weather, and follow official weather advisories.
