NEW DELHI, 27 July 2026 (TON): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the formation of a high powered task force, led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, to recommend reforms aimed at making India's public examination system more transparent, secure, and resistant to paper leaks.
The committee will include experts from technology, education, and public administration. Modi said the government will implement the panel's recommendations to strengthen trust in examinations through greater use of technology.
The Centre is also set to introduce the Public Examinations Amendment Bill, 2026, in Parliament. The law will include stricter penalties, fast-track courts for paper leak cases, and tougher action against individuals and organized groups involved in exam fraud.
