MANIPUR, INDIA, 11 October 2026 (TON): At least eleven people were killed in fresh violence across Manipur’s Kamjong, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul districts, where continuing gunfights and arson in several locations have made security situation highly tense.

Armed clashes between Indian security forces and separatists in Kamjong district led killing of a women which further aggravated the situation  and further clashes, ambushes and planned attacks on residential areas were reported.

Several houses were reportedly set on fire and several Naga village guards were reportedly among those killed in an attack on Makui Ashang village. In Ukhrul district the situation is highly tense an security forces are unable to control the situation. 

Security forces deployed in vulnerable areas seems insufficient while option of deploying additional Para Military Forces are being considered.
