Six Killed as Heavy Rains Trigger Building Collapse in Mumbai

NEW DELHI, 6 July 2026 (TON): At least six people, including five children, were killed after a group of buildings collapsed in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai on Sunday following heavy rainfall.

Authorities also closed the Mumbai-Pune Expressway after a landslide triggered by persistent rain blocked the route.

Heavy downpours caused widespread disruption across the city, with roads submerged, flights and long-distance train services affected, and schools and colleges remaining closed on Monday as authorities responded to the severe weather conditions.
