TOKYO, 11 July 2026 (TON): Tens of thousands of people gathered in Tokyo outside the National Diet Building and joined online demonstrations on Friday to protest a series of policies introduced by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's government.
Protesters expressed concern over recent defence and security measures, saying they could move Japan further away from its post-war pacifist principles.Demonstrators assembled , calling on the government to uphold Article 9 of Japan's Constitution, which renounces war.
