In a major development the displaced families in tens and hundreds are returning to their homes as UN backed Yemeni Government forces regained large areas from Houthis, which they occupied since 3 September 2026. Yemeni government forces claimed to have retaken Mount Al-Bazla, Hajjah and the Madhula area while fighting is continuing at al-Waziiyah and other district of Taiz. Earlier other areas were also taken over by Yemeni Government forces, where Houthis destroyed a number of military type vehicles before fleeing.
The Friday witnessed thousands of Yemenis gathered supporting UN backed Government forces and condemned Houthis attack of holy city of Makkah. The threatened to launch a civil war in Houthis controlled areas as how the dare launching drone attack on the direction of Holy Kabah at Makkah. Saturday 19 September witnessed heavy bombardment from the Yemeni Government forces that caused heavy damage and at least 18 causalities. Government forces claim that 34 rebels were killed but same could not be confirmed from independent sources.
Yemen's Houthis said on night Friday/ Saturday that foreign aircrafts carried out 13 attacks in addition to 26 strikes by Royal Saudi Air Force in Houthis controlled areas in the past 24 hours. The identity of foreign aircrafts could not be verified. The Houthis admitted heavy damage but did not report number of killed or injured.
Meanwhile, if we recall, the Force commander Sudan, Ubaid Ullah said in a statement that our three-nation command, might be joined by other countries, are ready to move inside Yemen on 17 September 2026, or when ordered by the command. He hinted that advance parties of their force have already taken position at strategic points inside Yemen. In the latest statement commander Ubaid Ullah said, “After the Houthis attack on Makkah we lost our patience and will not tolerate a single attack on Saudi Arabia,” Adding, “our 60 volunteers had taken positions inside Yemen before and around 3500 from three nations are ready to flush out Houthis from the controlled areas unless the submit for peace.” Reportedly, the situation was gradually coming to normal, especially after return of displaced Yemenis.
