YEREVAN, 22 July 2026 (TON): Armenia’s newly elected National Assembly will hold its first session on August 2, according to Central Electoral Commission Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan.
The inaugural session will begin at 10:00 a.m. local time, following constitutional and electoral procedures. The announcement came after the approval of the final distribution of parliamentary seats from the June 7 elections.
The ruling Civil Contract Party secured 64 seats, while the Strong Armenia alliance won 29 seats, and the Armenia Alliance received 12 seats. The first session will take place as the previous parliament’s term officially ends.
