ABUJA, 29 July 2026 (TON): At least 14 people were killed and several others injured after unidentified gunmen attacked a village in Nigeria's Benue State early Tuesday, local officials said.
The attack took place in Efeyi village in Otukpo Local Government Area. Local authorities blamed suspected armed Fulani militia, although no group has officially claimed responsibility.
The latest violence highlights ongoing insecurity in the region, where clashes linked to disputes between farming and herding communities have continued for years.
