WARSAW, June 18, 2026 (TON): Poland has formally proposed the establishment of a permanent U.S. military base on NATO's eastern frontier as Warsaw seeks to strengthen defense cooperation with Washington.
Speaking to local media on Tuesday, Poland's Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk said the Polish government had approved a proposal for a permanent American military installation in the country. He added that the project would be jointly financed by Poland and the United States, although the final decision rests with Washington.
Tomczyk said Poland remains committed to expanding military cooperation with the United States and is prepared to provide support for the proposed base if the plan receives approval from U.S. authorities
