JERUSALEM, 17 June 2026, (TON): The self-proclaimed Somaliland has opened its Embassy for Israel in Palestinian capital Jerusalem after Israel's recognition of its independence. The Somaliland has opened an embassy in Jerusalem, six months after Israel became the first country to recognize it as an independent nation.

The self-style Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi was on an official visit to Israel to inaugurate the opening of the diplomatic mission at a technology park in West Jerusalem.

During a meeting with the self proclaimed Somaliland President, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about deep spiritual bond between the people of Israel and Somaliland.

Somaliland is part of Somalia, which majority of the countries of the world do not recognize as a separate country. The Western backed terrorist regime of Somaliland has no legitimacy and are only violating Somalia’s sovereignty.

Israel recognized Somaliland last December while early this year Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar made an official visit to Somaliland. Majority of countries and organisations including China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and others including Organization of Islamic Conference and the African Union have criticize all move that breaches th independence and sovereignty of Somalia.
