BEIJING June 10, 2026 (TON): Hong Kong authorities have filed 25 charges to seven people and two companies , including manslaughter , defraud and tax evasion over the devastating fire at the Wang Fuk housing complex last November. The massive fire killed 168 people on November 26, 2026.
The two charged companies are the main contractor of the project and the project consultancy firm. The seven people were part of major renovation project of Wang Fuk Court.
The Lawyer representing independent committee , Victor Dawes who is conducting ongoing inquiry of Wang Fuk complex said that fire safety failed due to human error.
