The security situation in India, especially in held Jammu and Kashmir is highly tense. The clouds of expected war between India and Pakistan has put both the nations in a mode of uncertainty. Despite deployment of 9 new regiments of Rashtriya Rifles in Jammu and Kashmir, the law and order situation is gradually deteriorating. Joint combing and search operations by the security forces are at bloom. The security forces disclosed that between 22 April and 2nd May 2025, 381 Kashmiris have been killed or missing while recorded apprehensions have crossed 1900. Many properties of innocent Kashmiris have been demolished or attached with the Indian authorities on the suspicion of being terrorists or facilitators to terrorists. Many Kashmiris with fear that they wont be able to resist torture if taken by the Indian security forces for investigation have fled the area to other cities.
In a striking development, change in the Order of Battle has taken place in at least three Commands till 2nd May 2025. A new Squadron landed at 46 Wing Indian Air Force Station Naal, Bikaner. Additional deployed at of Rafale Fighter aircraft at new airfield near Leh was reported. It was revealed that some Indian pilots had experience in bombing Gaza under the command of Israeli Defence Forces. Around 38 Drones were also deployed at some unknown locations. Post Pahalgam attack, Indian Air Force has increased its sorties to airlift the load to Drop Zones.
Some brigades have received orders for operational moves but dates are not specified. Operational plans has been issued to 9 Independent Mountain Brigade which is expected to move from its peace location Joshimath to River Jammu Tawi. The elements of 19 Infantry Division were re-adjusted and heavy concentration was reported along Line of Control at Pir Panjal Ranges. New constructions were reported at Dhaula Dhar range. Since last year, Indian Army is trying to increase its strengthen in Pir Panjal Region which witnessed further deployments.
An Indian Brigade commander on the condition of anonymity said, “We are trained to fight insurgency not a war. It is out of question that 26 will cross over to Pakistani side” He added, Pakistani forces are ….. but they have created such a hype against the Indian forces that now our Command has no option but to carryout surgical strikes at five locations.” Another senior officer claimed that they have received the launchers from Chandimandir for the Agni missiles. However, this time strikes will be conducted without air space violations or by drones.
On the Pakistani, Islamabad is looking for an opportunity of any misadventure from India so that she can take revenge of 1971 Separation of Pakistan's Eastern part and unfinished agenda of Kargil War. During a special meeting at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi on 2 May 2025, the Pakistani Army military elite review of the prevailing geo-strategic environment, with particular emphasis on ongoing India – Pakistan standoff and broader security calculus. Meanwhile Pakistani troops are engaged on military training including missile firing and weapon testing. Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy are already on high already to thwart any Indian misadventure.
